Raindrop Therapy is not a medical treatment, nor is it massage. However, when used in conjunction with massage it creates a wonderfully soothing, nurturing and relaxing experience.
The Raindrop Therapy technique is a procedure for applying therapeutic-grade essential oils to the feet, back and spine. It combines aromatherapy and reflexology to create healing and cleansing.
Nine essential oils are used in Raindrop Therapy. Two therapeutic blends and seven single oils. A person receiving Raindrop Therapy lays face down while the practitioner drops the oils neat (undiluted) onto the back along the spine from a height of about six inches.
The oils are gently massaged in using a feathering technique with the backs of the finger tips. A hot compress is then applied for about ten minutes to aid in the absorption of the oils. The essential oils continue to penetrate into the body for five to seven days, assisting in toxin release and boosting the immune system.
Another aspect of Raindrop Therapy is "Vita Flex", a therapeutic maneuver adapted from acupuncture, acupressure, and reflexology. Using the Vita Flex maneuver, the essential oils are
applied along the spinal reflex points on the feet. The theory of Vita Flex utilizes the fact that the human skin is 'piezoelectric'. That is, when even a slight pressure is applied to the body surface, a voltage is generated, and electric charges move accordingly. The currents so generated are thought to be of therapeutic value. The electrical nature of the Vita Flex maneuver is thought to assist in the body's absorption and utilization of essential oils.
We all carry viruses and bacteria which deplete our immune system. One aid to solving these problems is Raindrop Therapy. The oils used in Raindrop Therapy have been clinically tested to have antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. They flush out toxins and kill dormant viruses and bacteria along the spine, restoring health to the entire system.
Raindrop Therapy massage is highly recommended for anyone under stress, recovering from a cold or an injury, or experiencing psychological stress or trauma, as in stimulates the central nervous system when essential oils are dropped directly onto the spine, bringing your whole being into balance.
A typical Raindrop Therapy treatment last about forty minutes. However, most clients choose to incorporate it into a massage. In which case, the entire body work treatment last much longer.
Raindrop Therapy is not a cure or quick fix but a very powerful tool to help restore balance to the body that will result in good health.
